Are you looking to hang out with a few friends on Halloween night and watch a great horror flick? Every day in October, I’ll be suggesting a film that I believe will make for excellent Halloween viewing. Whether you’re an avid celebrator or a casual observer of the holiday, these films will convey the proper mood and spirit of October. In no particular order, here are 31 excellent movies for Halloween Night—or whenever you’re looking for a frightfully good time. Enjoy!
My recommendation for October 26th is… Return of the Living Dead.
Saucy Josh is… in a little bit of pain. It’s not excruciating, but it’s bad enough to be hella distracting. Hard to write… Find out why at the end of this blog.

The list is solid, though, and I’m not making excuses for its quality. I put tons of thought into this list. Horror Comedies, really good Horror comedies, are rare and don’t come along nearly as often as they ought to. I think the term, Horror Comedy is actually thrown around way too often (we haven’t had a great one since 2009). There are plenty of funny parts in scary movies and plenty of comedies with scary scenes, but a true Horror Comedy seeks to represent each genre with equal gusto.

Make sure you read the title of this article correctly. This is NOT a list of my Top 10 favorite Zombie Films (the web is already awash in those). This is my Top 10 favorite Zombie CHARACTERS in film. I know it might be hard to get your brain around at first. I mean, Zombies often appear in hordes of dozens or hundreds—sometimes even thousands! How can one Undead differentiate himself from another? It’s true that when you’ve seen a lot of Zombie movies, they all tend to sort of blur together. But when you’re a true Horror aficionado, you start to notice some stand-outs, individual Zombies that have a unique look, or personality. Some of them even have names!
