Are you looking to hang out with a few friends on Halloween night and watch a great horror flick? Every day in October, I’ll be suggesting a film that I believe will make for excellent Halloween viewing. Whether you’re an avid celebrator or a casual observer of the holiday, these films will convey the proper mood and spirit of October. In no particular order, here are 31 excellent movies for Halloween Night—or whenever you’re looking for a frightfully good time. Enjoy!

My recommendation for October 19th is… Idle Hands.

Official Synopsis: Lazy Anton’s right hand becomes possessed with murderous intent.

If you’re down looking for some light-hearted horror bubblegum, the kind of Horror-Comedy that will appeal to just about everyone, you really can’t do much better than Idle Hands.  A complete send-up of the high-school supernatural-slasher flick, it sports hysterical stoner comedy, gleefully gruesome practical FX, and a boat-load of 1990’s nostalgia.  Some will see a similarity in feel and themes to Buffy the Vampire SlayerIdle Hands features a blossoming Jessica Alba before she became a full on sex-diva in a refreshing nymphet personal, Seth Green as a wise-cracking zombie, and Vivica Fox as bad-ass demon hunter.  A scene with “Gene Simmons” having sex with “Paul Stanley” in the back of a car is epic.
