October Countdown: 31 Fantastic Films to Make Your Halloween Scream, #13

Are you looking to hang out with a few friends on Halloween night and watch a great horror flick? Every day in October, I’ll be suggesting a film that I believe will make for excellent Halloween viewing. Whether you’re an avid celebrator or a casual observer of the holiday, these films will convey the proper mood and spirit of October. In no particular order (and by no means a completely representative), here’s the next entry in my list of 31 excellent movies for Halloween Night—or whenever you’re looking for a frightfully good time.

My recommendation for October 13th is… Excision.

Official Synopsis: A neglected teen takes refuge in the dreams that used to haunt her and orchestrates a shocking plan to prove her worth to her disapproving parents.

Now I make this recommendation knowing full well that some of you might get mad at me for it. Not only will it completely cripple anyone with an irrational fear of menstruation, Excision is the kind of movie that sets you up to laugh now and cry later. As awkward outcast Pauline, AnnaLynne McCord delivers some of the best teenage cat-fight dialog ever, with lines like, “Your vagina looks like an infected axe wound” and “Your boyfriend licks pussy like a dog lapping water”. Ex-porn maven Traci Lords is actually incredible as Pauline’s neglectful, impossible-to-please mother. The conclusion hits like a gut punch likely to leave you speechless.
