Tonight’s Basic Cable-TV Horror Movie Selection: Tuesday ShOckTober 18th

Oh October, how I love thee.  Let me count the ways…

8 PM PST: Diary of the Dead on AMC (Fearfest).

I know the title sounds ridiculous, but Diary of the Dead is one of the most underrated Zombie movies ever, and an extremely good “found-film” piece.  Written and directed by George E. Romero, this film is directly connected to the original Night of the Living Dead.  Romero’s Zombie franchise is as follows:  Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Land of the Dead, Diary of the Dead, and Survival of the Dead (yesterday’s selection).  Not only is this film pure Romero, the man behind the Zombie phenomenon is also hosting.

Diary of the Dead made my Top 10 List of Found-Film/Mockumentary Horror movies, so don’t miss your chance to see it tonight.  Sure it’s gory, but it’s a great story with some cool characters and some witty social commentary.

Best line:  “If we don’t get it on film, it’s like it never happened.”
